The Kronos is a very good sounding keyboard with alot of features so there is a learning curve but its easier to navigate on than the Moif in my opinion. Meanwhile, of course you could demo a Kronos somewhere. I don't like Motif OS either but it's really quite workable once you figure it out. It's not fair to judge a board before you even figure out basic operation. I would suggest calming down and asking a few basic questions on Motifator. The Kronos kills it in all other departments for my needs but I can't tell what's important to you and besides, it always sucks to return something this big and expensive. These are all the things I can think of that are in favor of the Motif. That makes it easier to (for instance) create articulations on acoustic instruments. ![]() It also allows for some more advanced settings on when to play the parts beyond velocity switching or keyrange. The Motif allows 8 parts per voice/program. Just something we get a lot of questions on in here.Ħ. FX routing on the Motif is limited, but easy. The Motif's pattern based sequencer and the way it uses arps is pretty nice.ĥ. For instance, it doesn't work in a 64 bit DAW.Ĥ. As of yet, the new Kronos doesn't have an editor at all and people have generally not been very impressed with the old editor for the previous Kronos operating system. The Motif can be used with any software but has impressive integration with Cubase. Some people prefer the acoustic sounds (strings, brass, guitar) on the Motif (although the new Kronos is significantly improved in that area)ģ. Obviously you're asking a bunch of Kronos fans. FWIW I would return the Motif XF8 and get the Kronos 88 keeping in mind that you are going to have spend a good deal of time learning how to use it as the Kronos is a deep instrument with a lot of features. Any workstation is going to take time to learn and the Kronos is certainly no exception. Yes you can combine and layer sounds on it. ![]() Well for starters if you ever plan on gigging with it you will want a roadie for sure. Cubase only? What is the deal? I should of got a corgi kronos and I might return this to be honest. Can you even combine sounds and layer them? I find that the user interface is not friendly and my OS is not liking it. The sounds don't seem very impressive and it seems like a big nightmare to learn. Posted: Fri 6:48 am Post subject: Bought a Motif XF88 Need your help with answersĭid i make a right choice?
